Home>Library Resource LibraryLes Cheneaux Watershed Management Plan is a tool for the community to reduce non-point source pollution and plan for the protection of Les Cheneaux area’s natural resources for future generations. The plan provides a description of the watershed including its people and the condition of its aquatic resources. The plan was developed over a two-year period and outlines a detailed strategy for the reduction of point and non-point sources of pollution and the protection of natural features and the designated uses of water. The Les Cheneaux Watershed Project and the Watershed Council publish a quarterly newletter to provide current information about issues and activities related to water quality. Various articles and studies related to the Les Cheneaux watershed area. The Les Cheneaux Project staff and volunteers are searching records for historical data and reports. These documents will be placed on this page to provide easy access. Road and Stream Crossing Report Note: Free Adobe Reader software is required to view the Stream Crossing details.
As part of the development of the Les Cheneaux Watershed Managment Plan, project staff inventoried forty-nine (49) major road and stream crossings throughout the watershed. The "Road and Stream Crossing Report" provides photographs and data for each stream crossing.
The Watershed Project has developed a Septic System Handbook for full and part-time residents of the Les Cheneaux Community. Printed copies of the handbook are available at the Chamber of Commerce Office in Cedarville and at the Health Department Office in St. Ignace. Water Well Logs
