In a joint effort between the Watershed Project, the Watershed Council, Lake Superior State University, boy scouts, and Islands Wildlife Association, 200' of eroding streambank will be stabilized with tree revetments, live fascines, and tree planings. This project will be used as an eagle scout project for one of our local boyscouts.

Volunteers worked recently to install revetments and live fascines using willow and red osier dogwood. A number of tree plantings were done along the creek banks as well. A check of the site in early June showed that the live fascines are sprouting and are beginning to grow already. Further work will be done this summer to install more tree revetments in order to protect eroding stream banks at several sites along the creek.
